Meet the Mount Washington Lions Club

Serving our community with heart, we organize events and support local causes to make a real difference.

Lions Clubs International is the largest membership-based service organization in the world. Our 1.4 million members in more than 49,000 clubs are serving in 200 countries and geographic areas. Since 1917, Lions have improved health and well-being, strengthened communities and supported those in need, locally and globally. Lions serve. It’s that simple, and it has been since we first began. Our club is a place where individuals join together to give their valuable time and effort to improving our communities, and the world.

Our mission

To empower Lions club members, volunteers, and partners to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, and support those in need through humanitarian services and grants that impact lives globally, and encourage peace and understanding.

To be the Mount Washington and Bullitt County leader in community and humanitarian service.

A message from the president...

The Mt Washington Lions Club turns 78 years old this year. It has created a park, produced city street signs, provided vision services for hundreds of our needy neighbors, raised American Flags on holidays throughout the city, distributed food, and served our community in hundreds of other ways large and small over the decades.

I feel a deep obligation to make sure that our organization is still serving for another 78 years from now. Perhaps you can join us in that quest. Come out to some our monthly fish frys. Donate your old eyeglasses. Maybe you’d like to join us by serving alongside more than 1.4 million other Lions in more than 200 countries around the world. We will be here looking for ways to fill needs right here in this community.
